Playdates

Lucy and Locke

Yes, that is Lady's dog bed...they love to play on it!

Lucy and Max

As you can tell...it is hard to get two babies to sit still and look at the camera!

Headed west...

That is right...we are moving to Abilene! It is hard to believe that three years ago we moved here as two, but will be leaving as four. No, I am not pregnant...the fourth is Lady of course. We will miss Austin, but are very excited to be back in west Texas!

Goodbye Austin! We may see you again one day...

Happy Easter!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

Wiggle Worm

I only thought Lucy was busy last month, this month we have learned the true definition of a busy baby. The girl is constantly on the move...a true wiggle worm! She is moving on the floor, in your arms, in her bed, on the changing table...we have about 30 seconds to change her diaper and attempt to get her clothes back on before she is crawling away!

Lucy's first encounter with the life jacket...her face says it all...

...BUT she LOVED the boat ride!

Love when she wrinkles her nose!

As you can see, we suffered our first bruise (right cheek)...fell while attempting to pull up on my desk.

Lucy still loves to eat and will eat anything we put in front of her...including fish and vegetables!
But she still doesn't hold her own bottle...
She weighs 20 lbs. 8 ozs. and is 28 inches long
She is crawling, but her style of crawling is unique. She puts her left leg in a 'traditional' crawl position, but then puts her right foot flat on the ground, so her leg is at a right angle. It is very odd!
She is pulling up on everything...furniture, people, dogs, you name it.
She no longer has the death grip on furniture while in a standing position and will actually let go with one hand now.
She loves to bang on everything.
She sleeps on her stomach with her little bottom straight up in the air...adorable.
She is babbling all the time now...saying mama and dada.
Still shaking her head 'no' all the time!
She does this nose wrinkle that is the cutest thing you have ever seen.
She gets very mad when you take a toy away from her...
If you tell her to dance, she bounces her little bottom in the air while standing.
She has figured out how to lower herself from standing...so now she does it over and over as if she is practicing...it looks like she is doing baby squats. Hilarious!
She loves to take her morning nap in hers stroller on a walk...convenient for momma.
And did I mention she never stops moving? The days of sweet cuddles are over because this girl has the whole world to explore!

We love you so much little wiggle worm!

Crawling!

She is not fast and still a little shaky, but this girl is on the move!!

And please excuse our high pitched voices, we were VERY proud!

Busy bee

At 8 months old, Lucy is one busy bee! She used to cooperate during her monthly photo shoot, but not this month...

I want that book...

Going for it...

Almost got it...

Finally!

And I finally got to play with the paper...

Life with Lucy is so much FUN right now...

She will get up on all fours and rock, but is still not crawling...we are starting to think she might not crawl.
She may not be crawling, but the girl can move...she rolls everywhere, scoots on her bottom and creeps on her stomach.
She is trying to pull up on everything.
She waves hello and goodbye.
She has tried so many new foods in the past month...including lots of finger foods.
She loves to go to the park and swing...she also loves to ride down the slide in our laps.
She weighs 19 lbs. 4 oz.
She loves to listen to music!
She is still the BEST sleeper...11-12 hours at night and 2 naps a day.
She loves her bottle, but refuses to hold it. Lazy girl...
She laughs a lot and it is the sweetest sound in the world!
She loves her nighttime routine...bath, book, bottle, bed...
She will wiggle her hands in the air to indicate she wants to be held.
She shakes her head 'no' and thinks it is hilarious...probably because we have laughed at her when she does it.
She babbles all the time...a true girl! :)

Bumper pad battle...

We have been fighting a battle with Lucy this week over her bumper pad. She loves to play with it, pull on it, chew on it, play peek-a-boo with it, use it in an attempt to pull up...you get the picture.

I had planned on using the bumper pad again if we had another girl one day, so I removed it. That night I put her down for the night as usual, but she screamed and screamed and screamed, which was very unusual. After a few minutes we went in to check on her. Jay picked her up and she settled down immediately. The bumper pad being gone was the only thing out of the ordinary...so I decided to put it back on. This is not an exaggeration, Lucy started smiling when she saw me pull it out of the closet and put it back in the crib. Once the bumper pad was back in the crib, we put her down for the night and didn't hear another peep out of her.

Sweet Lucy, you win! Please feel free to pull, chew and play with your beautiful bumper pad, BUT let's please not chew on the crib...
