Rainy day fun...it left us with a leak in the roof and water in the basement, but we desperately needed the rain, so we didn't care.

Lady...the best vacuum cleaner around. She patiently sits under their chairs, just waiting for food to drop. On the rare occasion she isn't in the room when I remove them from their chairs, I call her in for cleanup. Some may think it gross, I call it efficient. 

Lucy got a hold of a marker without me knowing it...thankfully it was on her and not furniture and/or the walls!

Notice Claire's path...destroyed a shelf of books, pulled tennis shoes off the fireplace and now on to the next thing...

I write this blog as much for myself as I do for family and friends. I want to be able to look back and remember what was going on with the girls at each stage of their life. With that being said, here are a few things about Lucy since she started school...

Counts to 23

Counts to 10 in Spanish

Easily navigates the Ipad and iPhone

LOVES to take pictures with my phone

Recognizes her shapes

Knows her colors

Attempts to say the ABC's, but they are VERY jumbled

Her vocabulary expands SO much each day

We currently love how she says...her name, guitar, right here, oh sorry 

Knows how to stop, drop and roll

Knows we are in the month of October and the season is fall

Lucy, we love you smart girl!

Happy 8 months!

I refuse to believe Claire is four months shy of a year, but it is true. And she is one busy 8 month old!

As you can tell from the pictures, this girl is on the move

Crawling everywhere and she is FAST!

Attempting to pull up on everything

SO happy!

Just cut one tooth on top

Loves all things dangerous...i.e. electrical cords

Has a funny yell/scream that indicates she wants something 

Is less interested in her bottle of milk these days and more interested in table food

Is very efficient at feeding herself with her fingers

Continues to sleep like a champ, 12 hours a night and 1-2 naps a day

Is a WILD child in the bathtub...have to keep one hand on her at all times

Hates her car seat

Huge blue eyes with long eyelashes

Hair appears to be light blonde

Still has very dry skin

Loves to be rocked to sleep

Sucks her left thumb when tired

Bonds with Lucy more and more each day...makes my heart happy

Is discovering all kinds of things around the house...books on shelves, trashcans, etc.

Keeping with the theme of unique crawling style...Claire alternates between what we call the crab crawl (exactly how Lucy crawled) and a crawl on both hands and both feet...kind of like a bear but her legs and arms are bent. Very funny!

Pictures

These are pictures from Lucy's first school program. She was hilarious! She immediately spotted us and tried to come off the stage to us, but stayed in her place when told by her teacher. She didn't sing, but smiled the entire time and then stood up with great pride at the end and yelled, "dada." 

Picture proof that Claire stood by herself. Taken three days shy of 7 months old.  She may crawl, but no walking yet, so I helped her to her bottom. :)

St. John's

Lucy started at St. John's on 8/28/12 in their two year old class. She goes to school Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00-3:00. As far as we can tell, she LOVES it! The first couple of weeks she was very upset when we left, but now she barely makes a peep. Her daily reports are funny...it usually says, "I was happy, I played with friends, I ate like a bear, I slept like a big dog." 

Exhausted after the first day!

7 months...how can it be?!

...Sweet Claire is 7 months old...

She has two bottom teeth

Drooling all of the time

Eating ALL of the time

She now takes four bottles a day and eats three solid meals

She eats baby solids and anything we can cut up very small

She doesn't have the pincer grasp down, but can feed herself with her fist

Sleeping like a champ...12+ hours a night

Takes a cat nap in the morning and a long afternoon nap

She is SO happy!

Not quite crawling, but can get around by rolling, scooting, army crawling

Stood briefly by herself at three days shy of 7 months (I was shocked)

Is able to get from her stomach or back to a sitting position

Stills sucks her left thumb

Continues to suffer from dry skin, especially on her head

Lots of light blonde hair growing in

LOVES to play with Lucy

Loves to be outside and go on walks

She is SO nosy...wants to know what is going on with everyone at all times

She is a wiggle worm...very difficult to diaper or dress because she is trying to sit up, so she can see what is going on, of course

Loves bath time, especially with Lucy

Claire bear, we love you to the moon and back!
