We went for Lucy's four month check-up yesterday. Dr. Dawson's comment, "this little girl is thriving!!" The reason for this comment...
Height: 25 inches (85th percentile)
Weight: 15 lbs 13.5 oz (85th percentile)
Head circumference: 42.5 cm (90th percentile)
The shots were terrible this time...no tears, no sound, breathless crying that caused her lips to turn blue and the nurse to tell her to BREATHE! She was quickly comforted after I picked her up, but she was definitely much more aware this time. I know it will only get worse as she gets older.
Here are a few things about Lucy at four months...
- She has her hands in her mouth all of the time and is constantly drooling.
- She loves to suck on her middle fingers...as you can see in the pictures below.
- She has discovered her feet and tries to put them in her mouth.
- She is sooo close to rolling over from her back to her stomach...just can't quite get the momentum to roll over her shoulder yet.
- She can tripod sit for about ten seconds, but then falls to one side.
- When she wants our attention, she knows how to get it with a cry or squeal.
- She prefers to be sitting or standing as opposed to laying flat.
- She is grasping toys, rattles, hair, earrings, anything she can wrap those little fingers around.
- She attempts to hold her own bottle.
- She sleeps 11-12 hours at night without waking up. Yes, I know this is too good to be true.
- She LOVES to look at herself in the mirror...she talks, smiles and squeals at that baby looking back at her...easy entertainment and is so funny to us.
- She has the most pathetic sad face, a face that she knows works with her daddy!

Just a glimpse of the sad face I was talking about...much better in person!
Happy 4 month birthday sweet girl! We love you!
